Nozomi Networks has collected recently a large number of malware samples from their IoT honeypots. After analyzing the malware samples they discovered new modification techniques malware authors are using to evade detection. Threat actors are also adopting new methods for crafting malicious files, exploiting a variety of vulnerabilities in IoT devices, and using command-and-control (C&C) servers to maintain control of compromised devices.
