A network of at least 123 websites operated from within China while posing as local news outlets in 30 countries across Europe, Asia, and Latin America. The websites disseminate pro-Beijing disinformation and attacks within much larger volumes of commercial content. The campaign has similarities with previous operations but appears distinct, with unique tactics. A central feature is the ephemeral nature of aggressive content, which gets removed after publication. The network draws significant content from a covert newswire service which seeds political narratives within commercial press releases. The campaign is attributed to a Chinese PR firm based on infrastructure linkages.
