A recently identified malware campaign called PhantomBlu is using new tactics and techniques to evade detection and deploy the NetSupport remote access Trojan. The campaign sends emails with Word docs containing malicious code hidden via template manipulation. Clicking an image triggers obfuscated PowerShell to retrieve and execute NetSupport. PhantomBlu marks an innovation in blending evasion with social engineering.
